Get into London Theatre 2011 launches this afternoon, January 4, 2011, at Southbank Centre’s Royal Festival Hall. West End performer and “Any Dream Will Do” finalist Daniel Boys (pictured) hosts the free afternoon of theatrical fun, which includes performances from the Jersey Boys and a lesson from “Dance Captain” Tim Stanley and the cast of Mamma Mia!, covering the finale of the hit show.
There will also be a chance to sing along to favourite West End show tunes; a workshop on body percussion from the cast of Stomp; and a unique “jump rope” demo from resident director Dominic Shaw and the cast of Legally Blonde.
Get into London Theatre offers ticket deals to nearly 60 London shows until February 18, 2011. Tickets are priced from as little as £10 for a wide choice of musicals, dance, plays and opera from Billy Elliot: The Musical to English National Ballet’s Romeo and Juliet.
There are also exclusive Get Into London Theatre activity packages, which means that you can see your favourite show, then take part in a special workshop or meet the talent behind London’s hottest productions.
London mayor Boris Johnson said: “Get Into London Theatre means you can bag a bargain at a time when people are watching their pennies and is a delightful fillip for the chilly first months of the year. It's a fabulous opportunity to discover why our theatre industry is the envy of the world.”
