New Royal Ballet season
The Royal Ballet has announced its plans for the 2012/13 season, Kevin O’Hare’s first as director. It includes six world premieres, with new works by Alexei Ratmansky, Alastair Marriott, Christopher Wheeldon, Liam Scarlett and two by Wayne McGregor – including his first ever narrative work. There will also be company premieres of works by Wheeldon and Scarlett, and revivals of works by Frederick Ashton, Kenneth MacMillan, George Balanchine, Jerome Robbins, John Cranko and Wheeldon, and of 19th-century classics.

The twelfth Critics’ Circle National Dance Awards took place today at The Place, in the Robin Howard Dance Theatre. Members of the dance section of the Critics’ Circle vote for the awards, on performances given in the UK between September 1, 2010 and August 31, 2011.

Spring and summer at Sadler's Wells
Ballet Preljocaj, The Royal Ballet of Flanders and Danza Contemporanea de Cuba are among the international companies in the new season at Sadler’s Wells, alongside Matthew Bourne, Ivan Putrov and Russell Maliphant.

Dance Umbrella 2011
This year’s Dance Umbrella includes the the Merce Cunningham Dance Company’s farewell performances, Rosemary Lee’s large-scale free outdoor performance by professional and non-professional dancers, classic revivals from Karole Armitage and Lucinda Childs, a celebration of Richard Alston, performances at the Gate Theatre and the Victoria and Albert Museum and dance from South Africa, Italy, France, Canada and Israel.
Sadler's Wells autumn season
Sadler’s Wells has announced its autumn season for 2011. The programme is dominated by a new Out of Asia strand, with artists and themes from China, Vietnam, Bangladesh, Japan and Taiwan. There are also new works from Clod Ensemble (pictured, photograph by Manuel Vason), Fabulous Beast, Rambert Dance Company, Wayne McGregor and ZooNation.
Sylvie Guillem world premiere
Sadler’s Wells has announced the world premiere of a programme devised and performed by Sylvie Guillem (pictured). The French ballerina will star in an evening of works by Mats Ek, William Forsythe and Jirí Kylián.
