Pamela Moncur photographs:

Friday, 08 October 2010

Dance photographs by Pamela Moncur, a former soloist with The Royal Ballet, are part of the exhibition Exposure at Obsidian Art in Stoke Mandeville.

Moncur trained at The Royal Ballet School, joining the company at 17. As a dancer, she toured the world with the Royal Ballet and on private world tours with Margot Fonteyn, Rudolf Nureyev, Robert Helpmann and Beryl Grey. When she gave up dancing, she appeared in television commercials, working with directors Ridley Scott, John Schlesinger and Terence Donovan. She went on to present, direct and produce television programmes, setting up her own production company.

Our gallery includes the photograph “A Night at the Ballet”, a picture of Tamara Rojo and David Drew in Marguerite and Armand, which won a medal at the London Salon. Other photographs show Darcey Bussell and Carlos Acosta in Apollo, Federico Bonelli and Tamara Rojo in Marguerite and Armand and Roberta Marquez in The Firebird.

Exposure runs from October 14–31 at Obsidian Art. See www.obsidianart.co.uk for further details or contact Pamela Moncur on This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it .
