As part of the Greenwich Dances season, choreographer Arthur Pita’s Open Heart Productions will stage a 100-hour dance marathon, running from June 3 to 7.

Tamara Nijinsky, the 93-year-old daughter of Vaslav and Romola Nijinsky, is to receive legal recognition for her father’s celebrated ballet, The Rite of Spring, at the centenary performance in Paris this month.

Auditions for dancers will be held on Friday, May 10 for the film musical Sunshine on Leith. Directed by Dexter Fletcher, and produced by DNA Films and Black Camel Pictures, the film will star Peter Mullan and Jane Horrocks. The choreography will be by Arthur Pita.

Since 2008, ballerina Alina Cojocaru (pictured) has been raising funds for the Bucharest Hospice Appeal, holding galas for Hospices of Hope. She returns to Sadler’s Wells on Sunday, May 12, with a varied repertory and plenty of starry friends.
