Welsh Cuban Salsa Congress:

Tuesday, 24 July 2012

welsh salsa congressWales holds its second Cuban Salsa Congress from August 31 to September 2, offering 60 hours of workshops and three massive late-night parties. The event will be held in the Swansea club Odyssey.

Many of the artists are coming to the UK to teach at the congress, making this a unique opportunity for British salsa lovers. Yoandy Villarrutia, Diana Rodriguez and Ismaray Chacon will make their UK debuts, joining a line-up that includes Moe Flex, Osbanis and Anneta, Joseph Koniak, Solange Dias and Idalberto Alcala.

Presented by Tropicalentura, the event includes 60 workshops, held in five workshop rooms, three party nights, a Greco-Roman themed Saturday night extravaganza, spectacular shows and competitions. The venue has multiple party rooms with space for 1,720 clubbers, new lighting and sound system. It is in Swansea’s city centre, close to the waterfront, with plenty of hotels and restaurants close by.

Full weekend passes cost £115 until August 1, when the price increases to £125. One-day passes and party night tickets are also available. See www.cubansalsacongresswales.co.uk for tickets and more information.

I was disappointed to miss this but even more disappointed that they didn't refund my money (£190) for 2 tickets in spite of 2 months notice that I needed to cancel and assurances from the director, Gareth, that I would receive a refund. No-one is answering the phone to answer further enquiries - very unprofessional!!

What a pity - it will do their business no good at all if this is their reputation.
