Salsa and Kizomba in Bromley:

Wednesday, 06 June 2012

bromleysalsaFrom June 6, Bromley United Services Club opens its doors to a sizzling new salsa and kizomba club. From beginners to more experienced movers, dancers are offered the chance to get moving in the familiar salsa and the newer kizomba style.

Often called “African tango”, kizomba has its roots in Angola, and is danced to zouk music from the French Caribbean. The mix of tango sensuality and hypnotic zouk beats has made the style a hit in UK clubs. The UK Alliance of Professional Teachers of Dancing (UKA) recently launched a kizomba teaching qualification, suggesting the style is set to grow.

The teaching team in Bromley includes Dance Today writer Lee Knights, salsa musicality specialist and co-author of Find the Rhythm. She’s joined by Christian Jean Francois, one of the UK’s leading kizomba instructors and creator of the new style kizomba de roda. Lee is an International Dance Teachers Association Instructor, while Christian is with UKA. For more information, call 07979 280 283, email This e-mail address is being protected from spambots.
