Midnight Tango opens in the West End:

Wednesday, 18 January 2012

Vincent and Flavia’s Midnight Tango opens its ten-week season at the Aldwych Theatre in London’s West End this week on Friday, January 20. The show will remain in the West End venue until March 31, then begins its UK tour on April 10 at the Theatre Royal in Newcastle upon Tyne, continuing until July 21 at Her Majesty’s Theatre, Aberdeen.

Producers Arlene Phillips and Adam Spiegel are delighted with ticket sales, which have now reached £2 million for the limited season West End run and the nationwide tour. Arlene said: “For a first-time producer, having a show opening in the West End is a dream, but having a show starring Vincent and Flavia, a phenomenal company of dancers and ticket sales through the roof is more than I could ever have hoped for.”

Vincent Simone and Flavia Cacace say they are "delighted that Midnight Tango has been so well received in the West End… we are both looking forward to performing at the Aldwych Theatre for ten weeks, before the next UK tour."

Midnight Tango is directed by Olivier Award-winning choreographer Karen Bruce, who has choreographed for both “Strictly Come Dancing” and “So You Think You Can Dance” on BBC 1, and whose theatre credits include Pacific Overtures (Donmar Warehouse) and Footloose (West End and UK Tour).  The show’s choreography is by Vincent and Flavia, design is by Morgan Large, lighting by James Whiteside and sound by Gareth Owen.  The live music is provided by top tango band, Tango Siempre, featuring vocalist Miguel Angel.
