WIN tickets to see Shobana Jeyasingh Dance Company

Shobana Jeyasingh Dance Company, who celebrate their 20th anniversary later this year, are offering readers of Dancing Times the chance to win a free pair of tickets for the two programmes the company will be touring this Spring. The first programme is a new piece called City:zen choreographed by Jeyasingh to music composed by Orlando Gough. It explores the idea of food as “one of the success stories of city living as flavours and ingredients from near and far turn up to surprise us in ever new combinations.”
City:zen is performed on a double bill with either Faultline or Exit No Exit. We have a pair of tickets to see City:zen at one of the following venues: Contact Theatre, Manchester on February 21; The Castle, Wellingborough on March 11; or The Junction, Cambridge on April 10. The second programme is called The Dancers’ Cut and includes highlights from four of Jeyasingh’s favourite pieces performed by Yamuna Devi, Kamala Devam, Mandeep Raikhy and Devaraj Thimmaiah. Dancing Times have a pair of tickets to see The Dancers’ Cut at the Guildhall Arts Centre, Grantham on March 7; Unity Theatre, Liverpool on March 13; Derby Dance, Derby on March 27; or Bridgwater Arts Centre, Devon on April 24. To win a pair of tickets just answer the following question: In what year was the Shobana Jeyasingh Dance Company founded? Send your answer, along with venue preference and your full name and address by email to competitions@dancing-times.co.uk or by post to the usual address headed “Shobana Jeyasingh competition” to arrive no later than Thursday, February 14.
